Helping Your Community
We all contribute in some way to non-point source pollution in our county. However, there are many things that we can do to reduce and prevent pollution within the community. You can reduce non-point source pollution by dropping off your recyclables at Recycling Centers and by Reporting Pollution you see in the community. You can also volunteer to help clean up the community at various events held throughout the year.
Volunteer Opportunites
There are many different clean-up opportunities proved throughout the year in Lawrence County. To see events that are happening soon, visit the Upcoming Events page.
Ohio River Sweep
Each year, Lawrence County citizens, as well as citzens all over Ohio and the midwest, participate in cleaning the Ohio River. The river serves as a source for drinking water, recreation, and commerce--keeping the water clean is important to the success of everyone who depends on it.
