Our Mission Statement
The mission of the Lawrence County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is to promote conservation, leadership, and management of natural resources and to provide educational and technical assistance to the landowners of Lawrence County.

Our office is responsible for spreading the message about stormwater pollution, its causes and effects, and how people can help prevent it. The Lawrence County SWCD regulates all construction activities that disturb an acre or more of land. For SWCD contact information, visit the Contacts page.

We hope that this website will raise awareness about stormwater pollution. We want the citizens of Lawrence County to realize that our natural resources are very valuable and need to be protected. Citizens need to know that there are laws governing certain activities and citizens should have the proper documentation for those activities.
